In his opening psalm, it is revealed that David has an intimate relationship with God. That said, he opens the psalm with types of people; the righteous and the wicked. David writes, "Blessed is the man who DOES NOT walk in step with the wicked" When you delight yourself in the Law of the Lord, you will be blessed in your heart, soul, and life, as David was. David had a complicated life of adversity, dysfunction, and threats all around Him, but He was happy and blessed because the Lord gave Him strength, function, purpose, victory, and companionship. These very things are also offered to you and experienced by those who delight themselves in the Lord, and have decided to pursue the kind of relationship David had with the Lord. Like streams of water, the Lord refreshes, rejuvenates, and nurtures you where you would otherwise "dry up". Pastor Troy Billow expounds on this dynamic deeper.
